Volz Servos & Schiebel: 15 years of cooperation

For Austrian aerospace manufacturer Schiebel’s CAMCOPTER® S-100, Volz has supplied more than 3,000 specially customized actuators.

With over 15 years of successful collaboration, Volz Servos and Austrian aerospace manufacturer Schiebel have forged a strong partnership. For Schiebel’s CAMCOPTER® S-100, Volz has supplied more than 3,000 specially customized versions of the Volz DA 26 actuators, featuring redundant communication channels and power supply. Schiebel's S-100s are engineered to carry a variety of cameras, measuring devices, or scanners for applications such as search and rescue missions, monitoring power lines, and conducting patrols.

The devices provide, for example, HD video for creative filmmaking or collecting and measuring atmospheric samples. What all these tasks have in common is the need for safe operation and precise control - whether remote or autonomous - and the highest reliability of critical components such as actuators.

“We are pleased with our now more than 15 years of good collaboration with Volz Servos, which included over 3.000 customized actuators for Schiebel’s S-100s. The Volz DA 26 are unmatched in reliability and crucial for our UAV projects enabling precise steering and safety”, says Nikolaus Nepimach, Schiebel Head of Purchasing.

"The Schiebel CAMCOPTER® is one of the most convincing uncrewed VTOL aircraft for all kinds of applications, from maritime to desert environments," says Phillipp Volz, CEO of Volz Servos. "Providing the aircraft with the required reliable actuators is a great project for our team and we are looking forward to further cooperation with Schiebel.”
